#HairBlitz2013 I got the chop!

Monday, 25 February 2013

So if you follow me on all my social networks you may have noticed I chopped off all my hair. I was due for a change. Even though you all know I had a started experimenting with colour in September, my hair was stupidly long and I needed something totally different! So myself and six other YouTuber's underwent a transformation as shown in the video below.

None of us actually knew what hair style we were going to get, but each one has been tailored to us. And they suit each of us so much. This was a collaboration with seanhanna Putney and our stylists were Chris Intzes, Lucie Monbillard, Nicole Vanderheide, Colin Knight, Noel Halligan and the ever awesome Skyler McDonald. They are all amazing and Skyler McDonald especially is truly a 'hair artist'.

I have to say I do like my short hair. Yes I will be growing it a few inches longer for ease, but it has been really fun to see what suits me. I love my hair. I love how it is black that fades quickly into blues and greens. It feels very, very me. Even if it isn't every one else's cup of tea.

On the note of coloured hair and individuality I recommend reading this post by Zozo from The London Lipgloss. Apparently great minds think alike as she has also recently changed her hair blue! In fact it is one the same dye's as one of the four in my hair! Crazy Colour dye is the best. So is celebrating your individuality through your style and in colour! Let us stand tall and proud.

As the other videos go live I will add the links on the video!

So what do you guys think of the new do?

The 'Catch-Up' Post

Friday, 15 February 2013

I know I havent posted in a month. I am the worst. I am so so sorry.

I just wanted to let you know that:

(a) 3 M.A.C. lipstick posts are coming up here in the next two weeks, plus a mystery video in a week.

(b) I got a beauty redesign courtesy of Nudge Designs. Kathy is super affordable and amazingly helpful! If you want a change that's quick and simple I can't recommend anyone enough.

(c) I have made a few videos, both linked below, one of which is very personal and the other is myself going crazy.

(d) I also have a new video going up on itsamandything soon! What 1st? A party look? Ombre nails? Date night look? Street Style video?

So here is a sneak peak of the lip stick review! And there should be some London Fashion Week posts if all goes well :)

See you soon! Sorry I had a lot of work and something had to give!

These Boots Were Made For Walking*

Thursday, 20 December 2012

Around this time for the past two years I have gone away for Christmas. Both times I have been met with snow. Terrible, terrible snow. I was trapped outside Kings Cross St. Pancreas in 2010 for two hours in a snow storm waiting to get on a train. Ick. This weather ruined my last pair of black suede boots (rest in peace my beautiful friends). This year I am staying in the UK, but this time I am thinking ahead.

I don't know what it is about this time of year, but I go into 'adventure mode'. I like to explore or walk about in the crazy weather that seems to appear every December. But my footwear always pays the price. So for Christmas this year I have put some decent boots on my wish list.

I have been looking at the walking boots at Blacks to see what they have to offer and I am really impressed. I think it is difficult to find hardcore boot's (like walking boots or snow shoes) that are my style. But I have found a few choice's I love (below) , and my mum is going to be so happy I want something more practical than 5 inch heels for the festive season. You can check out a further selection of boots here.

Do you think walking boots are a necessity? I am starting to believe every city girl should have a pair should the snow reappear for an annoying third year running.

Sigma F82 Round Kabuki Brush / Buffing Brush - Review

Thursday, 13 December 2012

My good friend Klaire De Lys introduced me to this brush and even let me borrow it for a month to test and compare to my new one. I must say I am not new to Sigma brushes and own a few of the eye ones, but I had yet to splash out on one of the face brushes. After using it over a month I have to say it is fantastic. It has made every foundation, BB cream and even concealer look so natural on my skin. I was more than happy to invest.

I have found though that between this model and a previously used one that the newer one is less dense or contains less bristles so it's a lot more flexible and easier to clean. It still does the job, but I do miss how packed the other one is. I will be tempted to see how it compares to Real Techniques or Urban Decay's buffing brushes in the future.

All that said, I adore this brush and use it everyday! I have just ordered the P88 for concealer. Will see how that fairs. I bought mine from Cocktail Cosmetics since I am based in the UK and I really save on postage!

What do you like to apply your foundation or concealer?

P.S. Do you like the pictures?! I am upping them people. Expect more. Over 100 more. I went mad for blog photos this weekend.

Love Heart Nail Varnish in 'U ROK' by MUA

Sunday, 2 December 2012

It is most definitely Winter now and ever closer to Christmas. If you are like me, in the colder months you switch between black, glitter or oxblood colour nail varnish. This year I am switching it up for a lovely seasonal lavender.

I thought I would bring your attention to this bargin nail varnish. Lately, I have been using Love Heart Nail Varnish in 'U ROK' by MUA which is part of their Love Hearts collection still on sale. Typically I use it as a base colour with maybe a gold or multicolour glitter ombre. I have to say I LOVE this nail varnish (pun not intended). Not only is it a bargin at £2 in Superdrug, but it's pretty long lasting and quite opaque. It's a nifty little stocking filler.

Not much more to say, but enjoy!

I have been going through a rough patch recently and I apologise for the lack of posts. So I have been working on things for this blog and my YouTube channels. And a LOT more content for 'itsamandything' channel.  I have been working hard, these should be up in the next 2-3 months!
